PLANNING & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT If your home needs repair and money is a problem, the Borough may be able to help you. The Mayor and Council have recently authorized application for HUD funds through the State’s Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The funding (up to $200,000) will enable the Borough to make No interest loans to qualified homeowners for rehabilitation of their homes. The loans are provided for repairs to major systems such as heating, roofing, structural, plumbing, electrical, etc. The loans become due and payable when your house is sold. This is a great way to fix up your house now without expensive financing. In order to be eligible for this program you must own your home and meet specific income guidelines. For a family of five (5), the maximum household income is $62,650, for a family of four (40, maximum income is $58,000, for a family of three (3) persons, the maximum is $52,200, for a two (2) person household the maximum is $46,400 and for a single homeowner, the maximum income is $40,600. Households with income below these limits may also qualify for the loans. If you are interested in discussing or need details on this program please contact Jim Kilduff, Community Development Director, within Borough Hall at phone number # 973-827-9280 X 115.
