CHRISTMAS TREE PICKUP will
be on: GARBAGE & RECYCLING SCHEDULES GARBAGE PICKUP
GARBAGE: Place your garbage out
at curbside the night before pickup; emptied cans should be removed from
curbside the same evening. Each tax lot is allowed three 32 gallon
trash containers per pickup. Note: If collection is cancelled due to
inclement weather it will be picked up the following day.
HOLIDAYS: In the event the scheduled pick up falls on one of the following holidays, your pick up will be the following day. New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
BULKY ITEMS:
Such as carpets, furniture. TVs, mattresses and white goods:
(including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, etc.) will be picked up on
the same day as your regular garbage collection at NO COST TO YOU.
Remember to remove doors from refrigerators, ovens and all
white goods before leaving them at curbside for bulky pickup.
Refrigerators and air conditioners will be noted and picked up separately
due to freon content. Call Waste Management at 973-383-7480X242 if
you have any problems or questions. A dumpster will be required for
large amounts of household items, you cannot place the entire contents of
a household curbside.
BUILDING MATERIALS: Small amounts of building materials from a minor household repair must be tied and bundled or placed in cans, not exceeding 50 lbs. Lumber cannot be longer than 4 foot lengths. A dumpster will be required for large construction repairs and remolding. Call Waste Management at 973-282-7480 for quotes on a dumpster. RECYCLING PICKUP
HOW TO RECYCLE: Place your co-mingled glass, cans, and plastic into your recycling containers. NO
PLASTIC BAGS! Place all properly contained and separated bundled items at your curbside. Note: Recycling collection does not take place on the fifth Wednesday of a month. (It is not picked up "every other week".) If your scheduled pick up is delayed do to inclement weather, it will be picked up the following day. |

During the months of April through November, place yard brush, leaves and grass at curbside for collection before 7:00 AM beginning the FOURTH MONDAY OF EACH MONTH. Waste Management will begin town-wide collection on Monday, and CONTINUE throughout the week until they have completed the collection. BRUSH AND BRANCHES should be bundled and tied. Branches should not be longer than 4-foot lengths, diameter not exceeding six inches. Leaves, grass and vegetative yard waste should be bagged using only biodegradable paper bags, or placed in re-usable containers. Plastic bags will not be accepted!! CHRISTMAS TREES: The Road Department will begin canvassing the town on the second Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in January. If any difficulties, call the Borough Garage at 973-827-9849. All trees must be placed curbside by Sunday to ensure collection. HAZARDOUS HOUSEHOLD WASTE Old latex paint cans that are empty or have had speedy dry added to remainder of the paint can be placed in your normal garbage. (The lids must be removed and the remaining paint must be dry). Oil based paints, lacquer cans,
motor oil, etc. must be taken to Sussex County Municipal
Utilities Authority for disposal. SCUMA sponsors free Hazardous
Household Waste material collection dates in June and November of every
year. Watch for public advertisements in local media, or call
