The Franklin Municipal Building was completely restored in 1997-1999.  The interior now consists of two floors of modern offices.  Franklin Borough received the New Jersey Planning Officials "Achievement in Planning Award" on April 27, 2001 for a rehabilitation project that impacts and improves the standards of a neighborhood.  The building was originally built in 1929 for the Sussex County Trust Co.
